Summary / Cover Letter

I have more than 10 years of experience in managing I.T. and in seeking ways that I.T. can be a proactive member of an organization. I also have several years of experience implementing lean principles / Six Sigma into I.T. to improve overall efficiencies and increase user satisfaction.I can lead technical as well as non-technical staff and I can communicate across all levels of an organization, from shop floor to CEO. I also enjoy working directly with end-users and helping them solve their technology related issues.

As a strong advocate of knowledge sharing and internal employee development, I have developed training plans and content for technical staff as well as end-users. I have utilized single point lessons, department “playbooks”, standard work, internal and external training to accomplish my knowledge sharing and development goals.This has helped insure the continuity of I.T. support as well as the personal and professional growth of the employees.

I have worked on, and led, many software implementation and integration projects including: SAP, custom MES utilizing VB / Java, SQL and Rockwell software, custom HRIS as well as “off the shelf” HRIS applications, reporting systems (Cognos, SQL, Crystal), employee suggestion system applications, and many others. I have also led projects to install new infrastructure, upgrade hardware, implement new hardware, and upgrade operating systems.

Some of my accomplishments include:

·Researched, selected, and implemented a digital signage system at Daimler Trucks to facilitate employee communications and metrics reporting

·Led implementation of network infrastructure, pc’s, MES in $65 million facility expansion

·Project lead for the implementation of SAP Financials into facility (conversion from mainframe based purchasing system)

·Development and implementation of custom MES:

oMonitoring machine utilization (OEE)

oKPI tracking

oProduction scheduling

oMaterial trigger system

oProduction reporting

·Decreased department spending by >$84,000 in first year by setting up a supplies tool-crib, reducing or eliminating unnecessary service contracts, outsourcing network cabling

·Worked with a cross functional team to design and implement an employee suggestion system. This system has generated thousands of employee suggestions and saved Daimler Trucks > $200,000.

·Implemented reporting metrics for measuring the quality of service provided by my department.I used this information to develop training for end-users, add or replace hardware, reduce / increase help desk staff, etc. Some of these metrics were:

oAverage time to work order completion by technician

oNumber of repeat problems per user / device

oNumber of issues by functional department

·Implemented lean management principles in my department

oStandard work / process documentation (playbooks, single point lessons, etc)

oProblem solving / root cause analysis (A3, Fishbone / Ishikawa, 5 Why’s)
