I am a Building Management professional and highly motivated individual, committed to delivering consistently high standards of customer service to clients & end users. Approachable & enthusiastic with accomplished communication skills, I have excellent comprehension and retention skills and the ability to develop and sustain effective working relationships at all levels.  I consider myself to be results & service driven and enjoy the challenge of working under pressure.  Whilst able to engage well within teams, I also possess the discipline and organisational skills to work independently.

I have 10 years experience in providing Front of House experiences to a number of landmark, multi award winning locations, in both a private residential capacity and a commercial capacity in the Leisure & Tourism/Hotel industry. I am now working towards AIRPM status with the Institute of Residential Property Management, and I am actively broadening my knowledge and understanding of the property management and leasehold sectors

Braemar Estates (Residential) Ltd

Reporting to: Senior Surveyor

Braemar Estates is the specialist property management division of Brooks Macdonald Group plc. managing a diverse portfolio of approximately 5,000 UK residential, commercial and mixed-use properties. These properties include some of the country’s highest profile developments with a combined value in excess of £1 billion.

Beetham Tower is a landmark 47-storey mixed-use skyscraper designed by Ian Simpson. At a height of 168 metres and consisting of a 279-bedroom four-star Hilton Hotel and 219 residential units, it is the tallest skyscraper outside London, housing the highest living space in the UK.

A management level position my duties include: Handling day-to-day front-desk and property management tasks; Liaising with and assist Senior Property Managers with general issues arising from estate management function; Liaising with and assisting all leaseholders, client companies and building occupiers; Managing property maintenance, the repairs process, suppliers, and contractors;  To liaise with local authorities as appropriate; To compile and maintain records relating to the site; e.g. asset register, plans, plant testing, etc., taking any action which may be required; Maintain accurate records of building functions and processes; To proactively manage risk and deal with insurance issues on site

I am also occasionally involved in issues arising in the Lumiere and Castlegate residential developments

Prior to my role at Beetham Tower I was interim Building Manager at Nottingham One (previously Southreef), a. £40m residential development, consisting of 237 dwellings & approx. 60,000 sq ft of commercial space  in Nottingham City Centre.  As well as the above I was required to conduct interviews & recruit a permanent replacement for the position.

A management level, front of house appointment at an award winning multi million pound residential apartment complex consisting of 154 dwellings & 7 retail units by Dandara.

My duties included the day to day operational running of the development, management of a small Front of House team of Concierge staff & cleaners, liaison to shareholders, residents association and managing agency plus Local Authorities (Police & PSCO, City Councillors, Environmental Health Officers), quality assurance audits, monitoring Baxall CCTV, ADT Fire System & Fermax Security Entrance System (Switchboard) and check-in of serviced apartment customers.

I was also a named key holder & a relief concierge/caretaker for other landmark developments including Chorlton Mill (conversion), Great Northern Tower & Vie Building.

Hobbies & Interests

I am a dancer and have been dedicated to this since 1994. Through this interest I have travelled extensively and experienced many languages and cultures. As my professional life is based in a customer-facing environment, I believe that transferring my learning from these experiences has provided valuable enrichment to my work.

I am also a keen historian, particularly regarding Manchester and regularly read on, attend tours or talks about the city.

The Line Dance Foundation (Aug 2012 - Present)

The Line Dance Foundation (LDF) was founded by Linedancer Magazine, a specialist publication of Champion Media Group. It's aim is to offer financial support via the funds raised to anyone connected to the Line dance industry and whose livelihoods depend on their dance activities. A simple way to give a little back to those dedicated people who give so much towards the hobby.

My role includes building and maintaining the domain www.ldfmanchester.com including an e-commerce solution to sell entry tickets, managing all social media outlets and online marketing, contacting potential event sponsors, venue sourcing, contract & service level agreement negotiation, talent acquisition and management of the event, with the aim of raising funds for the foundation. To date I have raised over £5000.

World Dance Masters Ltd (Sep 2002 - Aug 2012)

Outside of my full time positions I was heavily involved in running a dance organisation, hosting 20 annual events in 11 countries including around Europe, Australia, South Africa.

• International Client Concierge & Customer Service – answering emails, Face-to-Face interaction with international guests. Organising group discounts, coach services, flights, accommodation & activities.
• Event planning and management for up to 1100 delegates.  Venue sourcing, contract and service level agreement negotiation (clients included Merlin Entertainments Group Ltd, Principal Hayley Hotels, Britannia Hotels & Crown Leisure), strategic planning & roll out of the nationwide Solo Style® Danceclass initiative
• Social Media solutions - Set up and maintenance of all social network platforms & content creation with the aim of furthering brand recognition & market penetration, statistical analysis & report creation
• E-Commerce solutions – Set up of an online store to purchase event tickets & registrations, processing orders, entry allocation, and payments/refunds, database & mailing list management.
• Webmaster duty – Design, Editing and maintenance of 2 complex website of 150+ pages each using the Rapidweaver web design program
