Senior Developer

Senior Developer/ Lead theguardian.com Key Responsibilities: Assisted with the design and build of the Guardian user commenting platform, focusing mainly on the Django based administration system, the Scalatra based restful API and the Python/Flask rendering service. Currently working on the migration of the system on to the new responsive Guardian website, rendered off a series of API backed Scala/Play services. Planning a migration of our hardware infrastructure to the Amazon AWS.

Successfully built current website and CMS using Java, Velocity,, Hibernate and Oracle; delivering to time and within budget. Senior Java Developer, Southampton Key Responsibilities: Developed point of sale and optometry software using Java Swing with MySQL database and Hibernate ORM. At the time this was the largest agile project in Europe.
