Projects, Current & Past

  1. A 7000 word written report along 15 minute spoken presentation, based on whether immigration is a negative thing for the UK as it is reported in the media, it was clear from the data I analysed from official reports, news articles and a range of interviews including 2 MP's, local employers and people in the financial sector that immigration it is in fact extremely beneficial to the UK.
  2. I plan on writing my dissertation on Brexit, currently my work in progress title is: Did the Brexit vote demonstrate the limitations of using a referendum? While a referendum can be a good form of direct democracy, it can also require citizens to decide on complex issues they do not fully understand. And did the leave campaign create a discourse that constructed a false sense of reality and take advantage of this. I will also be carrying out my own research for this which I plan on being a very large sample focusing a wide range of age groups, professions, locations and education.
