I am a hardworking and diligent Design manager with over 12 years design experience and a natural aptitude for problem solving. I have a varied background with experience in a number of industries and materials, and have a passion and natural creative flair for product design. I have a good understanding as well as a keen interest in the application of engineering, design and project management, and relish the day to day challenges that are thrown up in a fast paced design environment. Promoted within the company to lead the design and engineering departments. I have been responsible for implementing new data management systems, supplier audits, building key relationships with NZ and Chinese manufacturers. In the last 3 years i have expanded the team from 3 to 10 employees including mechanical engineering, electronic engineering, industrial design and technicians. Often working in a project manager capacity, I am responsible for overseeing all design projects from the initial brief to the manufacture and delivery from Chinese factories. I have been responsible for an increase in revenue of over $30 million in the last 2 years. Designed all products under the Renovator brand name.

Employed to work with the internal graphics team to adapt, modify and improve 3rd party products which were being sold through the DRTV stream. I would take concepts and develop technical solutions and lead all engineering aspects of new product development. Since joining the team I was able to bring 6 projects from concept through to market which are now bringing in healthy revenue streams and successful products in their own right. Responsibilities include dealing with manufacturers in China, dealing with patent applications, instructing engineers for prototyping and project management duties.

My project in my time at Methven was to work on a new shower and rail set design. I was responsible for the taking over the design from the industrial designers and creating a working model suitable for mass production. Dealing with the marketing department to produce detailed Gap analysis for market position and then project manage the project through to launch date. I was required to hold regular meetings with the board to keep shareholders aware of progress.

Working in the refrigeration department I was responsible for designing and developing new parts which would be utilized in future product ranges. Design work included test rigs for cables at low temperatures as well as rodent control testing and design.

Manitowoc Food Services - UK
Working in the R&D department I quickly made my mark with some radical design solutions which greatly reduced production time while improving efficiency of the products. I was responsible for the project management, designing, prototyping and the testing of a new chiller unit which would go on to be taken by Starbucks. This was shortlisted for an environmental design award as well as changing the method of production within the factory.

Walmart - UK
As a key point of contact at Walmart I was responsible for the installation of all internal and external signage. I had 15 people working for me and covered the UK nationwide for site visits and meetings with architects. This was a fresh challenge away from design and taught me some invaluable skills which have later been applied to all of my positions.
