Also led the development of a business plan for a $10 million capital raise to fund a start-up concept for a sales automation process integrated with strategic variable data printing targeting the insurance industry.

 Managed all marketing functions for U.S. retail operations consisting of over 350 locations in 24 separate DMA’s. 

 Responsibilities and accomplishments include:

  • Marketing strategies for three separate retail distribution channels including two wholly-owned brands and an agent-based network of independent retailers
  • Integrated 250 uniquely branded stores from acquired chains into a single, national retail brand – Money Mart®
  • Launched a new brand for mono-line small dollar loan stores – Loan Mart® for over 100 new locations during an 18-month period resulting in $20 million in annual revenue in last fiscal year of tenure
  • Executed advertising programs ranging from $2 to $3 million annually throughout 24 different media markets
  • Managed the production, fulfillment and distribution of market-specific, in-store merchandising material and to over 300 locations during key selling cycles each year
  • Developed a self-service website and all corresponding print collateral templates to manage the ordering, production and distribution of local marketing campaigns and in-store merchandising materials by Field Operations for over 200 items from a centralized inventory or print-on-demand catalog

 Position designed around my retail expertise to replace outside business development consultants

  •  Devised a retail sales program to support a staff of eight professional Account Executives to assist their clients in developing business cases to solicit incremental marketing funds from their vendors for use in television advertising
  • Created position as originally conceived even with significant senior management changes throughout the organization as the Westinghouse / CBS Television merger took shape

Regional, multi-unit retailer of major appliances and consumer electronics serving southeastern and central Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware.

 Operated a full service, in-house advertising agency with a staff of seven employees to handle all media, in-store merchandising and marketing communications efforts for 30-store regional retail chain.

 Responsibilities and accomplishments included:

  • Defined and built an entire operating unit to produce all retail advertising campaigns internally
  • Directed staff of seven to manage media planning, creative strategy and production for print ads, television and radio commercials, direct mail and in-store merchandising
  • Negotiated and placed average of $10 million in newspaper, television and radio in multiple markets annually
  • Defined content for price/item promotions with various merchandise managers featuring over 100 items weekly
