Jaime Murra serves as President of Induarroz, the Colombian rice millers association, and maintains membership with the Young Presidents’ Organization, a group for CEOs between the ages 45 to 50. Murra claims numerous successes in the rice-milling industry. Currently, he serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Colombian rice-milling company Dicorp S.A.Formerly known as Arroz Diana, Dicorp is Latin America’s fifth-largest rice miller. Upon becoming Dicorp’s CEO in 2001, Jaime Murra led the company in becoming the only rice company in Colombia that directly serves small stores. The change in operations, guided by Murra, resulted in a 62% annual growth rate as of 2002. As part of his duties as CEO, Jaime Murra has already successfully implemented the first step in Dicorp’s vision by acquiring a Colombian cooking oil company. Overall, Murra and Dicorp hope to achieve $1 billion in sales in five product categories by 2013. He first joined Dicorp in 1992 as Director of Sales and Marketing. He also briefly served as Vice President of Private Placing for JP Morgan Chase & Co. in San Francisco. A native Spanish speaker, Jaime Murra has earned a Master of Business Administration from Bentley College in Waltham, Massachusetts, as well as a Master’s degree in Management from Stanford Graduate School of Business in Stanford, California. He has also completed a BS in Management at CESA College in Bogotá, Colombia. In his free time, Jaime Murra completes in marathons, triathlons, and cycling road races. He has also completed both the Boston and New York marathons.
