My Portfolio.... still uploading

My objective is to work for a public relations pr integrated marketing communications agency. I hope to creatively work with a team to develop communication strategies that build brand and engage publics. While I am both educated and experienced working in public relations, what sets me apart is my excitement for communication and for learning new things.  Within the industry, I find myself draw to companies that are innovative and focused on creativity.

Currently, I am hoping to gain experience where I can and to take pride in my work as I do.

Office Manager

Emerald Architectural

As the Office Manager at Emerald, I am primarily responsible for managing all accounts receivable, accounts payable, employee payroll and company finances. In addition, I am also constantly putting my writing and public relations background to work--I not only draft correspondence between Emerald and Emerald's clients but I also work to build our brand and make sure our name is recognized in our industry. More simply put, I aim to anticipate and respond to the needs of our office, our team and our clients.

PR Intern

Braben Public Relations

As a PR intern in London I spent my time trying to gain as much experience as possible. My main projects included analyzing and compiling media audits, writing news releases, writing blog posts, and corresponding with and pitching to journalists. As our office's intern, I was also responsible for creating and maintaining coverage reports and for keeping up with news in both national and trade publications. Working abroad was an unforgettable and wonderful challenge. Hopefully, it's an opportunity I will have again someday!

Marketing & Special Events Intern

Krannert Art Museum

While working as an intern at KAM, I was fortunate enough to work with both curators and directors to ensure the museum's events and exhibitions were organized, attended and publicized. The majority of my time was spent working on KAM's annual Petals & Painting fundraiser and the traveling exhibition, An Architect Collects. As the museum's only intern, I also worked to edit exhibition catalogues and maintain the websites for the exhibitions An Architect Collects, Uninterrupted Flux and Branded On Display.

My main responsibilities at Novare, Inc., a law firm specializing in corporate bankruptcy, was to organize and summarize financial information, and to work with our office to produce and serve subpoenas and dockets. Master of Science

Boston University

At BU, in addition to my regular courses, I was a selected participant in the London Summer Program. While abroad, I enrolled in a number of internationally focused classes, such as International Political & Media Systems and Global Marketing Communication. Additionally, I had the amazing opportunity to spend time at the London offices of Burson-Marsteller, Reuters, and the Office of the European Parliment.

As part of my graduation requirements, I completed a Professional Thesis Project. For my project, I created a re-marketing campaign for a major international brand

Bachelor of Arts

One aspect of my undergraduate degree from the U of I that I take with me to every professional opportunity is the ability to write well.  At U of I, while focused on providing a solid general education, each class also focused on writing and critical thinking skills.

I pride myself on my ability to communicate and my ability to not only think logically, but also to think creatively.  To that end, I credit the University of Illinois for pushing me to value those skills.
