Research & Digital Media Production Management Intern (Portfolio Available)
I was successful in gaining an independent work placement within the marketing team at the national governing body for Scottish Gymnastics in order to help them develop digital media content to celebrate 125 years of the association's history. I was responsible for researching and creating a digital visual marketing project in line with the organisation's corporate communications strategy, and alongside a number of additional engagement activities within the anniversary year including an awards dinner and the publication of historical archive research. I was responsible for researching and collating archive data and external academic information, developing concepts and proposals for a short digital documentary, creating proposal documents and pitching, highlighting key areas of research and engagement, production processes, budget requirements and limitations, coordinating all information between involved parties and ensuring the professional completion of all stages of the production planning process within tight timescales and to strict budgets. From this, I took the lead role in the production side of the process including managing the entire filming and editing process, liaising with volunteers and external partners, practical camera work and editing content, social media engagement activities, content development, copy-writing in both short and long content, website management and development and managing schedules and contacts, associated administrative duties as well as assisting with the awards dinner production process. I also gained training in website analytics and social media engagement measuring, as well as working at the world championships in October 2015 on behalf of the organisation.
