Research & Digital Media Production Management Intern (Portfolio Available)

Scottish Gymnastics

I was successful in gaining an independent work placement within the marketing team at the national governing body for Scottish Gymnastics in order to help them develop digital media content to celebrate 125 years of the association's history. I was responsible for researching and creating a digital visual marketing project in line with the organisation's corporate communications strategy, and alongside a number of additional engagement activities within the anniversary year including an awards dinner and the publication of historical archive research. I was responsible for researching and collating archive data and external academic information, developing concepts and proposals for a short digital documentary, creating proposal documents and pitching, highlighting key areas of research and engagement, production processes, budget requirements and limitations, coordinating all information between involved parties and ensuring the professional completion of all stages of the production planning process within tight timescales and to strict budgets. From this, I took the lead role in the production side of the process including managing the entire filming and editing process,  liaising with volunteers and external partners,  practical camera work and editing content, social media engagement activities, content development, copy-writing in both short and long content, website management and development and managing schedules and contacts, associated administrative duties as well as assisting with the awards dinner production process. I also gained training in website analytics and social media engagement measuring, as well as working at the world championships in October 2015 on behalf of the organisation.

Brand Associate (Digital Sales)

Adidas EU

In this role I was responsible for engaging in conversation with customers and clients, both individually online and through client meetings aiming to convert experience and knowledge into sales. The primary role was aimed at sales and marketing to consumers through the Adidas UK website, utilising the company's e-commerce structure. I was responsible for answering queries about Adidas products and policies throughout Europe as part of a UK based team of Brand Associates, managed centrally by Adidas EU Co-ordinators. I received training to develop skills in digital consumer engagement tactics including SEO content development and by progressing through a selection process, I was responsible for personal scheduling and target achievement, managing my shift patterns with peak periods. The second area of the role was to ensure that I presented the brand in a positive manner at all times across my personal digital media platforms, by creating photographic marketing and short copy content for my own social media profiles, using provided marketing samples and images. As a customer facing role, I continued to use my exceptional customer service skills and experience to achieve sales and build customer relationships for future sales for the company. This role also allowed me to explore practical applications of social marketing and has provided the opportunity to partake in extensive training in consumer engagement and brand loyalty creation and maintenance.

Sales Assistant

Next Retail Ltd

After starting with the company in a temporary sales role during the peak christmas trade period, I was made a permanent member of the team and transferred to a more local store. In this role, I have gained experience in various roles between delivery and salesfloor departments and by completing an extensive  training programme, I have gained a number of skills essential to improving productivity and sales in the store such as; Visual Merchandising, Replenishment, Marketing, Personal Service & Leadership. I continue to provide customer service well above the high standards that the company aim to achieve in all stores, receiving compliments from customers themselves and senior management teams on a number of occasions. I currently have additional responsibilities as a "Team Coach", an opportunity and role that allows me to pass on my knowledge through the training of new members of staff - aiming to create a positive and successful working environment and ensuring that staff can continue the high standards of service and sales that our store achieve on a regular basis.
