MC and Host

MCCCA (Montreal Center of Chinese Culture and Art)

For the last two years, I was one of the 4 MCs that was responsible for the biggest yearly event of MCCCA , the Chinese New Year Gala. This job required very strict script and stage style to fit the requirement of the organizer, and really helped me to develop a more diverse persona on stage.

MC and Host

Kongzi School

The show had the honor of inviting 4 mayors and 2 congressmen, so naturally the script and style was very strict. However, this show also required many live improvisations, and had a very different crowd from my previous experiences. This job really expanded my comfort zone and gave me experience in working with more official, elderly crowd.

Nov 2013 - Nov 2014

MC and Host

Dream Idol(2013,2014) CSSA

This is the job that brought me into the field of hosting, as a freshmen this job really opened my eyes, and established many connections for me. I initially thought of this as a onetime thing, but after the show I received many invites to host different events, making hosting one of my many skills in the years to come. Also this show required a lot of on stage, off the script improvisations, and the organizers have entrusted me with a lot of freedom in the second year, allowing me to develope my own style while leading the team. I was involved not just with hosting, but the general planning, marketing, and branding of the whole event.

Audience engagement

I have often been told that I have a natural charisma on stage that sucks in the attention of the audience, and this ability became my signature. In a team of MCs I am often tasked with the role of audience engagement, delivering lines and performances to balance out the stage and retain focus.

Mandarin & English Script Writting

I have had the opportunity to work with very diverse groups of organizers and some of the most well known Asian MCs  in constructing or reconstructing the script, whether it is official governmental script for the Embassy event, or really fluent, dynamic script for a talent show.
