Skills

Graphic Communication
Ability to generate quick sketches to communicate important construction details in the field. Saves client time and money. Laborers confident they are not doing something wrong.
Communication
Builder of high end condo units wants to install planting plan with unskilled labor. Using unskilled labor will save money but will not guarantee a stable planting that will stay healthy. I was hired to train the workers and oversee the installation Condo builder saved money. Plants were installed correctly. Design intent Stayed in tact.
Identifying design flaws in the planning stages of a project
As a member of the Amesbury Conservation Committee a Subdivision plan was submitted for approval, I was able to quickly Identify problems and recommend solutions instantaneously. My recommendations allowed the builder to gain faster approval and build a better residence than the early presentation. The town has a conforming lot that will prosper. The town gets a conforming lot that will provide property taxes. Builder will have a much more marketable property for sale.

“I have worked with Jack on both commercial and private projects. I value his opinion and sense of design, that I start working with him before I finalize my architectural solutions. All the projects that we worked on together were very successful, and brought me additional work. I do not hesitate recommending Jack for any project.” March 31, 2008

We had two goals in mind for our project.   First, we wanted to create some significant screening between our home and our neighbor's.   Also, we wanted to use boulders and rocks in a dramatic but natural fashion. The screening was accomplished with gentle mounding and a beautiful combination of plant material artfully placed.   Our house now appears to sit alone, beautifully framed, and quite private.

You simply don't haul 100 tons of boulders to a site and dump them off.   They must be placed carefully, logically, and with a plan in mind.   Jack's keen eye and very valuable experience in this realm was uncanny.   In fact, I nicknamed him "The Boulder Dude."

In addition, Jack created a beautiful "farmer's wall" on the property line, every rock placed just right so it appears that the wall has been there forever, in a slight state of dis-repair, with beautifully-placed grasses and wildflowers in the nooks and crannies of the rocks.   Gorgeous.

And of course, in addition to the screening and boulder aspects of the project, we were seeking an interesting and beautiful blend of plant material, flowers, trees, and even a water feature at the front door.

Jack pulled it all together in specatcular fashion. I can assure you, you may look a long time and never find a better landscape architect than Jack Tremblay.
