Now retired, Jack Fingersh possesses 50 years of experience as an attorney. Mr. Fingersh formerly served as a Partner at Lewis, Rice & Fingersh, L.C., headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri. Established more than 100 years ago, the firm has built a reputation as one of the leading law firms in the United States. Recently, U.S. News & World Report and Best Lawyers named it one of the country's Best Law Firms, citing its work in practice areas such as bankruptcy, health care, estates and trusts, and real estate law. Before embarking on his legal career, Jack Fingersh enrolled as an undergraduate at the University of Missouri, in Columbia. He completed his studies in 1953, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in History. After graduating, he moved north to Ann Arbor to enter law school at the University of Michigan. Mr. Fingersh earned his Juris Doctor from the institution in 1958, graduating with distinction. That same year, he gained admittance to practice law in Missouri and entered the United States Air Force, where he held the role of Hospital Administrative and Nursing Group Unit Commander until 1960. Jack Fingersh then began practicing in Kansas City, working predominantly in real estate, finance, and business law. Almost 30 years later, he joined his firm with another in a merger that resulted in the creation of Lewis, Rice & Fingersh. Today, the firm’s 170 attorneys serve clients including insurance agencies, manufacturers, health care companies, and government organizations in Missouri, Illinois, and Kansas.
