Supplier development and support to purchasing activities Manager

Responsible for the EMS & IT outsourcing activities within the company. Managing spend of around 3.5 Million Euro/year. Strategic suppliers mainly in Spain.

Main goal to identify improvement and savings opportunities in the company by means of partnership agreements (supplier concentration) and supplier development activities (buyer-supplier alignment, quality engineering work teams, process mapping, joint improvement efforts, etc.), and to support other areas of the company in future procurement and purchasing strategy regarding to the development of new products.

Implementation of common EMS & IT outsourcing processes across the organization.

Responsible for:

  • Definition of outsourcing strategy for the organization.
  • All outsourcing processes and procedures in the company.
  • Contract negation and purchase orders with EMS & IT partners like Celestica, Raytheon Technologies, Delaware Consulting, Accenture (Avanade and Coritel), Grupo Agio, Adecco, Novabase, Alten, etc., to meet business requirements.
  • Set KPI´s, objectives and monitor overall performance.
  • Supervising of all EMS & IT outsourcing managed through SAP.

Manager of the Engineering group of organization and processes for Agile SW development

  • Leading brain storming sessions with all the people (100) of SW development engineering department with the aiming to gauge their opinion to improve the working organization procedures.
  • Definition and setting-up of the company's SW development procedure using the agile framework which fully complies with NATO (AQAP) and ISO quality standards, and CMMI model.

  • Responsible for Purchase orders, Logistics and rebates with Technology partners like THALES, TADIRAN, MARCONI, BAE, RACAL, etc.
  • Set KPI´s, objectives and monitor overall performance.
  • Supervising all the purchases managed by means of SAP.

As a result of the 90's economic crisis several of the customers were into bankruptcy involving the stoppage of business activity of the company.

Some of the projects I was involved in were: Spanish Defence Satellite Communications System (SECOMSAT), Maritime Rescue System (COSPAS/SARSAT), development of an on-board 32-bits microprocessor instructions set, MINISAT program (INTA), portable satellite communications terminal, satellite communication systems for WEU, ARIANE V ground telemetry and trajectography system.
