PB&A continues to make significant contributions to the advancement of technical design and analysis of shoring and earth retention systems for the built environment. The firm is constantly striving to push the boundaries of the profession and bring new insight to a constantly evolving but highly specialized field. Recently the firm published articles detailing the use of a permanent Soil Nail Wall design for the foundation of the new Stanley Hall at the University of California, Berkeley, and the Soil Nail shoring design for the 83 ft. excavation of the North Anchorage of the new Carquinez Bridge.
