Objective

To work in a challenging Senior Project Architect role in a design oriented firm, that encompasses my skills, passions, and experience managing large scale sports, hospitality, and retail projects.

I enjoy fostering a collaborative atmosphere between architects, designers, and consultants in the delivery of projects, believing that creative solutions are best achieved by bringing multiple perspectives to the table. 

Ultimately, I'm looking for a team atmosphere where I can make a contribution toward the growth and development of the group, as well as achieving personal career goals.  

Summary

I have performed a number of roles in my career, including; Project Architect, Design Coordinator, and Project Manager. I believe my teamwork skills and leadership capabilities are well developed and have been demonstrated in a variety of diverse situations.  

My experience covers a wide range of building types including Sports & Entertainment venues, Hospitality, Retail, Food Service, Education, and Financial Institutions. The last 15 years have been focused on Sports facilities for professional and collegiate sporting events, and includes both renovation work, as well as new construction.

Responsible for management of overall project development for Convention Center and Professional Sporting venues throughout the United States and overseas, from Concept Design through Construction Document Preparation.

Duties included:

  • Supervise Project Architects and Production Staff.
  • Responding to Requests for Qualifications/Requests for Proposals
  • Contract development and negotiations, 
  • Developing and managing work plans for each project.
  • Close monitoring of project staffing, budgets, and reporting.
  • Coordinate billings and receivables with accounting personnel.

Left the position due to a slow down in workload.

Principal

NOVO Architecture, Dallas

Principal in a start-up architectural firm focusing on Sports and Entertainment venues, with an emphasis on collegiate and community oriented facilities. 

Duties Included:

  • Management of overall project development, with particular focus on the preparation of construction documents.
  • Interior design on each of our projects, managing the selection and specification of finishes.
  • Coordination of Specification Writers and Design Team Consultants to ensure that the design intent is met within the bounds of the approved design and budget.
  • Contract Administration during construction to ensure that the intent of the construction documents is carried out in a manner that meets or exceeds the client’s requirements.

Responsible for management of the overall project development for professional and collegiate sporting venues throughout the United States, and overseas, from Concept Design through Construction.

Duties included:

  • Organization and management of client design meetings and consultant work sessions to establish programmatic requirements, obtain design approvals, and develop the systems needed to support the design.
  • Interaction with design and visualization staff on the creation of 3D imagery and hand drawn presentation materials used to illustrate design concepts and obtain client and user group input/approvals.
  • Coordination of the Design Team in carrying out the Client's requirements. 
  • Management of Project Architects and Production Staff in executing the documentation from design development through construction contract administration.
  • Coordination of Specification Writers and Design Team Consultants.
  • Limited interior design work including selection and specification of finish materials, on a variety of Private Club and Dining facility projects.
  • Securing all required permits and approvals from governing agencies. Interacting with building, planning, and health officials in each jurisdiction.
  • Contract Administration during the construction phase, overseeing the work to ensure that the intent of the construction documents is carried out in a manner that meets or exceeds the client’s requirements, while remaining within the project budget.

The economic climate forced the closure of this office in the fall of 2010.

Managed the overall project development for professional and collegiate sporting venues throughout the United States, from Concept Design through Construction Contract Administration.

Duties included:

  • Organizing and management of client design meetings and consultant work sessions.
  • Interaction with design and visualization staff on the creation of 3D imagery and CGI animations, and hand drawn presentation materials.
  • Coordination of the Design Team in carrying out the Client's requirements. 
  • Advocating for the design team to insure the integrity of the design concept was maintained throughout the course of project development.
  • Management of Project Architects and Production Staff in executing the documentation from design development through construction contract administration.
  • Coordination of Specification Writers and Design Team Consultants to ensure that the design intent was met within the bounds of the approved design and established project budget.
  • Worked closely with the Contract Administrator and General Contractor/Construction Manager to ensure that the intent of the construction documents was carried out in a manner that met or exceeded the client’s requirements while remaining within the project budget.
  • Food Service Development and Coordination
  • Graphic Design Development and Coordination, including Branding and Wayfinding.
  • FF&E Orchestration including direct involvement in the procurement process.
