Management of CRB’s for the Learning Trust, Hackney Schools and additional umbrella organisations.

Olympic Delivery Authority (ND Public Body)

Development & implementation of HR polices, procedures and processes and identifying the projectrequirements for an Integrated Computerised HR and payroll system including Employee Self Service and Intranet. Suggested cost savings of approx £200,000 over nominated HR MIS solution.

Additional role as Business Partner to the operational functions within the ODA including the ODA Planning Authority, Sustainability, Parkland & Stadium design and Marketing, Press & Media depts.

UK based subsidiary of Gaz de France.Major UK Energy Management & Facilities Maintenance Company employing 658 staff with national coverage.

Reporting to the Executive Committee and board directors, sitting as a board member. responsible for all HR functions and strategy including Development and Training within Cofathec and advising Gaz de France on HR issues and HR-related due diligence for the UK.

Key Achievements

Upon joining Cofathec responsible for the establishment of Human Resources function for 254 staff and expanding the role to support the strategic growth of the company.

  • Saved approx. £100,000 in first year of a Training and Development programme which included Employment Law and an Absence Management programme.
  • Researched and established UK salary structure and benefits packages, including pensions for Senior Management and staff.
  • Established Companywide Competency framework for recruitment and appraisals.
  • Selected and installed Enterprise based HR System Personnel training, recruitment and intranet modules.
  • Revised performance review system to deliver a Competency based scheme.
  • Career planning and talent management for all UK staff and Managers
  • Recruitment of payroll manager to bring successfully the payroll in-house from outsourced provider and the selection and installation of an in-house payroll system.
  • Presented to the Executive Committee proposal for the use of integrated HR, Payroll and time recording, with an estimated saving in 1st year of £120,000
  • Acted as HR advisor to both French and UK parent companies on take-overs, mergers and PFI projects as well as UK employment matters.
  • Took lead role in the negotiations for the revised T&C’s for Shotton Power station unionised site.
  • Introduced new selection criteria and management procedures for external recruitment.
  • Negotiated with Employee Reps on the working of the constitution for the Employee Committee.
  • Instigated programme to ensure effective transfer of staff under TUPE dealing with an average number of 4 TUPE’s per week.

Took lead on all employment law issues including Employment Tribunals.This required working in partnership with Lewis Silkin as appropriate.
