As an intern, I shadowed professional broadcast meteorologists to gain a greater understanding of the business, forecasting techniques, broadcast protocol, and general operations. My participation included, but was not limited to the following: working the key-wall and green screen, communicating with storm chasers on-location and transferring current weather conditions to the meteorologists, and recording phone updates from various city weather-spotters.
