Chief Technology Officer (CTO) responsible for the Software Development, Product Management, Marketing, Information Technology and iRooms Customer Service Programmes. Designed and authored an internationally scoped Business Management System (BMS/ISMS) certified to ISO27001. I also created and fulfilled the Information Security Manager and Business Continuity Manager roles for the group of companies. Programme managed a 3 year offshore Agile software development programme as well as the company re-brand programme.

  • Restructured and relocated Software Development and Software Maintenance offshore.
  • Started and managed through to successful delivery a 3 year Offshore Software Engineering Project.
  • Designed, implemented and managed the company’s BMS/ISMS (Certified to ISO27001)
  • Comprehensive Business Management System covering all premises, business units and products across the group.
  • Over 170 Policies and Procedures covered Operations, HR, Compliance, Premises, Incident Management and Business Continuity.
  • Introduced a multitude of new technologies and IT Infrastructure across the group :
  • Information Rights Management, Email Compliance and Discovery Archiving , Email Security, Web Security, Email Content Control, Email Continuity, expanded VMWare, Back up eVaults, MPLS, Server and Process Monitoring, ISA VPN, IDS etc.
  • Spearheaded the Company Rebranding Programme and Client Satisfaction Programme

Senior Vice President responsible for creating the IntraLinks UK Project Enablement and Client Services Teams. Working across Service and Sales I oversaw the execution of the European and Asian Service Delivery function as well as managing two global programmes for Client Satisfaction and Imaging Vendor Management. Client Services comprised Project Management for Mergers and Acquisitions, Debt Capital Markets and Private Equity (GP/LP Reporting).

Investment Banking IT Programme Manager

Initially at UBS London I managed an emerging internet application technology team and was responsible for seeking business sponsorship with the many different line of business functions as well as putting in place a more structured software research programme. I was subsequently promoted and sent on an international assignment to New York (2001). Here I worked as part of a global Investment Banking programme management team that set policy, procedures and standards in the development of Investment Banking IT processes. Additionally, I worked directly for the UBS Group Executive Board on a cross divisional CRM programme.

Programme Manager

  • Programme Managed the Client Information Management portfolio – a 1.9m$ strategic change programme for Corporate Finance.
  • Designed and implemented, below budget a 0.9m$ UBS (group wide) Client Calling System.
  • Delivered RFIs and RFPs to launch a new 2.3m$ Banker Productivity Technology Programme.
  • Performed extensive Business Analysis to scope requirements for Corporate Franchise reports.
  • Helped divisional management market a new 3 dimensional Client Prioritisation System.
  • Built and fostered business relationships with all Sector, Product and Country team managers.
  • Performed presentations on Client Coverage capabilities to the UBS Group Executive Board.

  • Co-ordinated the Corporate Finance Server Consolidation and Federal Reserve Audit initiatives.

  • Represented Corporate Finance IT on the XML Authoring Working Group, Workgroup Computing Committee, Portal Technology Working Group and the Document Management Working Group.

  • Graduate Recruitment programme member and Technical Interviewer for new candidates.
  • Working member of the UBS IT Climate Survey Committee.
  • Formalised and then staffed the Product Line Architect role for Corporate Finance.
  • Heavily involved in the evaluation and delivery of reports based on 3rd Party Products and firm wide research programmes. Examples: Syndicated Search technologies, Capital IQ, eRooms, Oracle Sales Online, Documentum, Email Encryption, Single Sign-On, and a CEO to Banker Portal Offering called Energeia
  • Implemented a Digital Press Clipping Service, several bespoke products for the M&A team and a web site for the Equity Capital Markets Group.

Software Development Manager

CSL was an IBM Agent Software House. Here I was responsible for providing a charge-out consultancy service as well as managing the day to day software development and support of new AS400/PC based product offerings. These products covered vertical markets such as Sales and Marketing CRM, Recruitment , Course Booking and Event Management. Wrote the first commercial AS/400 to PC Word Processing interface and a number of highly successful AS/400 Domino applications.

  • Designed and launched a remote AS/400 Sales Force Automation (FSA) Product
  • Delivered a Domino based Field Marketing Product for the AS/400.
  • Increased sales revenue via the creation of a new Implementation & Software Services package.
  • Developed several new Business Partnerships through the AS/400 Business Partner Network.
  • Created a generic Senior Consultant service for ad-hoc AS/400 – PC services.
  • Brokered our OverQuota Business Partner status with MFJ Associates in New York.
  • Oversaw International Distillers and Vintners (IDV) Vietnam rollout of FSA.
  • Sold and successfully setup the OverQuota system at Canon UK.
  • Became a technical consultant in many emerging IBM AS/400 based Technologies.
  • Regular at many IBM sites, assessing emerging AS/400 technologies and research projects.

Utilising both Hardware and Software disciplines, I was dedicated to the area of designing real-time test systems for military aircraft including Tornado, F5 Norway, AC130 and the European Fighter Aircraft (EFA).

  • Technical engineering position, requiring a high proficiency in multiple digital and software engineering techniques (Z80 & 1750 Assembler, VAX TPARSE, ADA, FORTRAN 77, C/C++).
  • Hardware and software architect for the F5 Norway card test system.
  • Replaced legacy Tornado test equipment (Skyshadow) with an efficient PC + Interface Card solution.
  • Wrote complex Acceptance Test Procedures for Head Up Display Operational Flight Programs.
