DIVISION: CAS(Casting Shop)
My training was at India’s leading car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki’s KB series engine casting shop. In fact, this series has been another initiative taken by the company towards offering the latest technology.
The training was to study methods to reduce shrinkage defects in the oil-way of the K12 VVT engine cylinder head and analyzing the heat treatment of aluminum alloys and making a detailed comparison of the K-Series engine with the new YRA-Series. The training program at Maruti is very thorough and ensures delivery of knowledge to trainees. The Japanese culture incorporates a sense of discipline and emphasizes goal oriented approach.
The casting shop training has helped me gain useful practical knowledge coupled with work ethics. This was also my first hand experience in dealing with situations on the shop floo
Spent time at the tractor assembly unit of Escorts, one of the leading manufacturers of ‘farm equipment’ in India.
Experienced the discipline and efficiency demonstrated on the on shop floor. I also got exposed to cross-functional and its relevance in a seamless manufacturing operation. Areas selected for training were:teamwork
