Cognos/Crystal Reporting
I am proficient at formating and developing reports in both Cognos and Crystal reporting suites.  I have developed more than 20 reports using these reporting tools.  The reports I have developed are based SQL queries in the background.  With this skill I am able to write and build customized automated reports to provide regular and useful information for myself and other managers.
SQL skills are a very powerful asset for any person desiring to do their own analysis.  Understanding SQL provides me the ability to filter and retrieve necessary data quickly, which enables me to access informaiton quickly without having to rely on others.  I am proficient at obtaining the necessary fields, grouping and summarizing information using averages and sums, joining tables, creating case statements, developing ranks, and much more.
Microsoft Access
I also can effectively utilize Microsoft Access to manage and analyze larger amounts of data.  I am able to effectively join tables to and write queries that allow me to access the data I need in the appropriate format.  I can also create live links to existing databases so that manually updating is not necessary.    Additionally within Access, I can create automated reports that enable me to analyze similar data sets over long periods of time.
Microsoft Excel
Within Microsoft Excel I can use filters and pivot tables to manipulate and quickly summarize different variables of the data.  I can also write macros within Excel to make help make long repetitive work become as simple and fast as just clicking a button.
