Reporting to the Global IT VP (based in El Segundo, CA), the main responsibilities in this position are:

 

  • Support a $1B USD business with a yearly budget of $4.5MM USD and CapEx of $1.5MM USD for Latin America IT with a team of currently 25 people based throughout the region
  • Define and deploy local and Corporate policies throughout Latin America region
  • Define IT portfolio priorities together with the business stakeholders as well as aligning the company Program Management Office (PMO) to it
  • Execute approved portfolio on time & on budget following Global IT PM standards; negotiate internal and/or external technical resources
  • Maintain key stakeholders communicated on portfolio progress, issues, and risks
  • Minimize any business impact by ensuring IT services (voice & data) and processes (i.e. 3PL interfaces, EDI, etc.) are operating accordingly
  • Support the business collaboration throughout Latam by deploying the appropriate technology such as videoconference, MS Lync, etc.
  • Maintain Toy Stores flawless operation by having proper POS applications and infrastructure
  • Ensure agreed infrastructure and applications Service Level Agreements are covered by local and offshore (India) team
  • Oversee and support business processes improvement projects all business areas: Supply Chain, Finance, HR, Sales, and Marketing

  • Promoted from managing Mexico to Spanish Latin America (SLA) cluster (Oct ‘12); recently promoted to Latin America Region (Jul ‘14)
  • Evolved IT Team from “order takers” to become “business partners” to the organization and turning around to be a trustful IT organization
  • Exported IT talent to other Mattel subsidiaries such as Mattel Mexico (from Mattel Venezuela), Mattel Canada (from Mattel Mexico), Mattel Colombia (from Mattel Mexico), Mattel Chile (from Mattel Brazil)

On manufacturing, implemented QiSOFT for KPIs control. On sales, implemented salesforce.com CRM to improve customer service level. Lastly, started the Cognos Business Intelligence Corporate project
  • Standardized South America data telco by MPLS implementation. Deployed Corporate standard Windows Active Directory.
  • For voice services, migrated Argentina and Colombia to IP technology by implementing new AVAYA phone systems
  • Reduced voice costs by 20% in Colombia and Argentina by fares renegotiation
