Fundamentally, this is a computer engineering degree with all elective coursework in traditional art as well as in video and web production. Participants were accepted into the program after a selective web portfolio review process. Classes included video art, Digital Production Studio, and a Senior Project.
Senior Project, In Cognition, fall 2004 to spring 2005 In Cognition is a software that employs social simulations of the FIRO-B personality test. Artificially intelligent characters are created from user-defined presets that interact in a graphical 2D environment when the program is executed. The software visually explores the successes and failures of an interac- tion between the characters, resulting in an educational tool for FIRO-B personality archetypes.
Digital Production Studio, spring 2004 This course focused on the theory and practice of multimedia production with an emphasis on interactive narrative. The massive project was a semester-long video production that required tasks ranging from set design and video-editing to programming and graphic/web design. A team of four concluded the project with over 950 hours clocked per person within 3.5 months.
