My career objective is to obtain a position in the mass communications or multi-media field with a company that will enable me to utilize my skills and knowledge. I have experience in photography, videography, editing blogging, online media, and social networking. I am a Photojournalism major with a minor in Entrepreneurship currently taking journalism courses at the University of North Carolina. I am currently looking for any opportunities for internships focusing on but not limited to any of the above mentioned activities. I am looking for experience in a variety of fields, including anything that could use my knowledge of Entrepreneurship. I plan on graduating in 2012 with a major in Visual Communication from the UNC-Chapel Hill School of Journalism and Mass Communication, and a minor in Entrepreneurship.

Winner of 37th Frame Best of Photojournalism

My 37th Frame photo hung in the UNC-CH School of Journalism and Mass Communication for a full school year. I've also won multiple awards around campus for photography and have 5 photos hanging in dorms throughout the campus, and in the Global FedEx Building.

As webmaster I update the blog weekly with our menu, a calendar of events and any special announcements. I'm also in charge of the Pi Beta Phi Twitter account where I can get information out to a huge group of people immediately.

I used photography, video and written components to create a variety of options for the viewers. We used experimental journalism as well, including capturing, editing and writing an entire business profile on an iPhone 4.

As the sole photographer and one of the videographers for the summer school program I worked with the Foreign Language Resource Department, the staff of CTOPS (first-year orientation) and Dean Jan Yopp of Summer School to document summer in Chapel Hill. I worked specifically with a Spanish and Chinese immersion program spending hours in their classes, cultural activies and free time to document their experience.

Photojournalism Intern

40 Hours/Week Unpaid Internship. I was sent out on multiple assignments everyday on my own. I was responsible for selecting, edit, captions and publishing all my photos. I worked one on one with senior photographers and section editors in the newspaper to produce successful work.

I had more than 20 front page photos and 2 full page spreads during my internship.

I worked as a social networking developer by connecting this real estate brokerage to several social networking sites such as, but not limited to, Blogger, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Flickr, Wordpress, Plaxo, Classmates, and RealTown. I educated employees on these sites and how to enhance publicity and increase prospective clients in a professional manner for this specific field. I also attended online seminars in research for these sites, and updated them regularly by linking videos, photos and articles daily. Also in charge of meeting clients at their home to photograph their home, editing and resizing photos to post to the Real Estate Teams website.
