I have recently completed my Bachelor Social Work degree. Prior to this I was employed in many positions within the business sector having previously completed a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Human Resource Management.

Skills and Values

My strong advocacy skills enable me to effectively assist in bringing about change and making a difference in peoples lives. I have strong organisational skills which include; tIme management, decision making, goal setting and teamwork. I am interested in gaining further experience within the Health sector. I also have an interest in working with families,individuals and groups. I value respect, self-determination and social justice. These values and the AASW Code of Ethics guide my practice. 

Practice Framework

My developing framework incorporates a Systems approach to practice, which provides me with a way to understanding that individuals both influence their environment and are influenced by them. I also acknowledge that the Strengths perspective, Solution Focused Therapy and Crisis Intervention therapy are an integral part of my practice framework. These approaches acknowledge that all people have strengths and given access to resources and supports they can achieve their life goals and solve problems.

  • Designed and Implemented an Amputee Information Booklet for patients to provide them with information on rehabilitation and recovery processes prior to surgery.

  • Designed and implemented a Parent Education and Support Group to empower and assist parents and families to develop their formal and informal supports and to provide education on Behavioural Management techniques and current funding opportunities. 
  • Successfully participated in Intake call roster and undertook assessment activities (eco mapping).
  • Assisted with case management services to children, youth and families in crisis to ensure the health and safety of each child in the family and assisted the family in attaining a more satisfactory social, economic, or physical state.
