Agricultural Research Assistant

New Mexico State University

Conduct research for project manager covering hydrology modeling, GIS, and remote sensing applications.  Use GIS and remote sensing analysis for input and output parameters of hydrology models.  Assisted in the development of a micro-climate model used for semi-arid environments.  Create monthly precipitation maps for the state of New Mexico.  Work with local and state agencies for data collection, communicate regularly with coworkers within the department and outside of the department.  Write instruction manuals, provide technical writing for potential published work, present current work at conferences, work individually and in a team setting, use multiple software packages to assist the department with a multitude of issues, and meet deadlines on time.

Remote Sensing Analysis (Satellite Image Interpretation)

Digitize, rectify, and mosaic imagery Perform various remote sensing analyses (Land Classifications, change detection, Land Surface temperature retrieval, Spectral profile extraction, etc.)  Micro-climate modeling ( Derive LST, Albedo, NDVI) Using LiDAR to create DEMs for hydrological models Various file formats (TIFF/GeoTIFF, .shp, .bil, .img, MrSid, etc) Various Imagery (Landsat TM & ETM+, ASTER, AVHRR, DOQQ, etc)    

Geographic Information Systems
