Provided public service in Media Area for adults, teens and young children, including reader's advisory, reference and instruction. Compiled and designed bibliographies to promote collection. Assisted in weeding and suggesting materials. Created and maintained online reading lists and blogs, and designed rotating displays for various departments.

Performed reference on a daily basis to all ages, both online and in person, for our physical and electronic collections. Responsible for maintenance of approx. 5,000 non-fiction, mystery, and large print books as well as the entire media collections of the Pittsfield branch library. Created end panels for reader's advisory. Assisted with numerous children's and adult programs. Supervised teen volunteers during the summer and taught computer classes to adults and youth. Coordinated outreach programs and supervised our digital photograph archive.

Assisted in delivering library materials and resource guides to inmates at Rikers Island Prison, including solitary confinement and juvenile houses. Responded to written requests from inmates and organized large collection of donated material.

Primary liaison between the non-profit Population Services International and the US Peace corps. Mobilized rural villages and schools for voluntary counseling and testing of HIV. Initiated programs of HIV prevention and education in local prison and youth group. Hosted impromptu storytimes in my home for children in my village.
