Once a week, I lead an hour long supplemental class for an intro to Java class. I teach concepts that the professor could not cover in class, and I assist students struggling with programming assignments. I also grade all programs and tests submitted by students in my section. My average section size is 20 students.

Part of an intern team in charge of revamping the company’s internal website and db.

I worked on digitizing the process for filling out and processing several of the forms employees might need.

I also worked on different interfaces to manipulate data already in the database.

Worked primarily with Java EE 5, Hibernate 3, Struts 1.3, and JSP

4H is an organization that teaches the youth about several things, such as science and nutrition, by having the kids do fun experiments. I would help walk the kids through the experiments, help keep them under control, and help organize the equipment we would need for the experiments.

Extracurricular Activities

Treasurer of the wildcat fencing club.

Achievements

I graduated high school with an Advanced Diploma. I was a semifinalist in the National Achievement Scholarship Competition. Only 1600 African-Americans out of the nation are chosen to be semifinalists. I was awarded the national achievement scholarship from the University of Arizona for this accomplishment.

Past Projects

Micro-mouse autonomous robot

     I was in charge of writing a program to test the maze solving ability of the robot’s ‘brain’.

     The test program, written in python, generated random, cyclic mazes.
