Project Overview

The project is to do infrastructure upgrades of Oracle Database, Operating systems, Hardware -SAN, RAM, desktop upgrades of HBOS Insurance. During beginning of the financial year, HBOSInsurance IT department will make a list of hardware, softwares upgrades that are to be carried outin order to avoid the risk of business impact due to unsupported hardware/software. The HBOSInsurance infrastructure project manager should schedule the upgrade and make sure it gets done.

Programme Project Manager, Client - Sainsbury's UK              Jan 2009 - Present

Project Overview

The programme is to focus on the production, management and distribution of stores shelf edge tickets and POS advertising material.The solution architecture includes the roll-out of a Web Methods service bus and the introduction of SOA to Sainsburys.  The project is complex and time critical.

The solution includes Food and Non Food items publishing price and promotion information to the ESB and then with the introduction of a new RES Ticketing and Advertising solution subscribing to these services, managing the shelf edge ticketing and POS advertising material through the various stages of the promotional, trading and Store activities.  The solution includes the ability to view tickets through the merchandising system using an in-store hand held device. It is a £5M value programme and it includes multiple vendors (onsite/offshore model) and matrix teams within Sainsbury's. The programme had two releases, where release 1 of the programme went live in Jan 2010 and release 2 of the programme is scheduled for June 2010.

The portfolio of projects involves application maintenance and support of the WWL's core ocean logistics trading partner's system, Customs Modules, Ocean transportation booking systems, 24x7 support teams, application development of new tools like "Advanced Track and Trace" (query tool for shipments accessible over company's network). Typically application maintenance projects involve doing enhancements to the core trading partners system and manage its release thru requirements to deployment and support.  Project is based on onsite/offshore model. It was a $1.5M portfolio and I was managing 6 teams with total team size of 45 members.

The project is to reverse engineer the GroupeCAT's core logistics system and generate the business rules of the application. The project involved going through 100's of backend and frontend modules, unix scripts, C programs and writing the pseudo code associated with the programs as well writing business analysis document for each business process associated.  It was a 750K value project and I was leading a team of 20 members.
