I am graduate of Longwood University with a Bachelors of Arts in Mass Media Communications. I graduated in May of 2010 and am currently working as an administrative assistant at Northrop Grumman. I hope to use my experience at Northrop Grumman to find a job in communications or human resources so I can put my degree to good use. My interest lies in writing and photography, however, I also have skills in videography, video editing, and audio editing. I have taken reporting classes and broadcasting classes for my major, and held the position of Photo Editor my junior and senior years at Longwood on The Rotunda's staff. I was a Mass Media Communications Major at Longwood University in Farmville, VA. Classes for my major included Beginning and Advanced Reporting and Writing, where I was required to write several articles for the schools newspaper The Rotunda. I held the position of Photo Editor for The Rotunda both my junior and senior years at Longwood. I was also required to take beginning and advanced Broadcasting where I learned video and audio editing. The class used Sony cameras, Final Cut Express, and Garage Band. My senior year consisted of creating and implementing an undergrad thesis. The thesis can be viewed to the right as well as articles and pictures from my internship at The Quantico Sentry and The Rotunda. My internship at The Quantico Sentry consisted of 150 hours where I was given articles to write, take pictures, and perform interviews via phone and in person. During my 6 weeks at The Quantico Sentry I was given 6 assignments, 4 of which had accompanying photos. In the May of 2010 I completed my studies and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts.

I took Basic and Advanced Broadcasting for my major. I was required to make several VO's, VO/SOTS, PKGS, a Longform, and in a group project create a brief News Cast. During these classes I was able to attain skills in Final Cut Express for video editing, and Audio editing in Garage Band for my podcast. I wrote scripts, shot stand-ups, and gathered B-Roll.

I took Basic and Advanced Media Reporting and Writing for my major courses. I am also a writer for The Rotunda, Longwood Universities student run newspaper. Over the summer of 2009, I interned at the Quantico Sentry, a small newspaper located at Marine Corps Base Quantico, while interning I was published 6 times. I was assigned two solo all day events, where I conducted interviews, took pictures, and then wrote my articles. I have been published several times throughout the past two years in The Rotunda and have had several articles published, two front page articles. I also have skills in InDesign after taking a graphic design course for my major. I also have created a Blog that talks about dogs in the news, the good and the bad. Over this past semester it has transformed and has helped to improve my writing style for on-line use.

I have taken three photography classes while attending Longwood University. I took Black and White, Color, and Alternative photography classes. I was also photo editor for Longwood's student run newspaper for my Junior and Senior years. I took pictures every week for publication and I had a photo staff that I was in charge of. I let them know what stories were taken and asked that they take any photos that they were able to take. I've had several front page pictures, and three full page photo spreads, as well as numerous other photo publications. I was able to learn Photoshop skills in my Color Photography class, and used curves to edit pictures for The Rotunda.
