·Operated Fanuc controlled single and dual head robotic welders, laser cutting machine, turret punch, brake press and MIG (wire) welding machines.

·Utilized computer based Kanban system to process work orders and enter gage plans while utilizing dial calipers, micrometers and visual inspection.

·Ordered material for my value stream through use of bar code scanning.

·Performed daily setup and tear down of dies and punches for brake press.

·Conducted preventive maintenance (PM’s) at assigned workstations.

·Participated in Team and Value Stream meetings to resolve manufacturing issues.

2002 - 2005

Engineering Release Manager

·Primary customer (Engineer) contact person until production release.

·Developed internal Engineering Bill of Materials (BOM) in Microsoft Excel from customer supplied prints.

·Crosschecked quotes to prints for accuracy and reported results to Operations Manager, Estimator and our Sales Representative.

·Identified potential design issues or other discrepancies on prints and proposed solutions to correct them with design source, customer (Engineer) and our Operations Manager.

·Altered customer supplied prints with Engineers approval.

·Controlled the release of prints and Engineering Bill of Materials to insure that all departments were using only current revision levels.

·Released new jobs to Purchasing and Production departments.

·Posted BOM’s to Snap-server for departmental access.

·Assisted in the welding and assembly of sample racks for customer approval.

·Collaborated with our Fixturing department and Engineers to fine-tune sample racks for fit and function.

·Designed and built fixtures for our Welding, Assembly and Paint departments to foster safety and improve efficiency.

·Responsible for setting up and coordinating the functions of off-site work crews to resolve product maintenance issues.

·Assisted our Quality Control department by performing first article inspections in our Fixturing, Processing, Welding and Assembly departments.

1984 - 1999

·Direct responsibility for a two shift, two-product line operation supervising up to seventy-five employees.

·Organized and coordinated the layout and setup of new production runs.

·Increased productivity through line balancing and fixture modifications.

·Functioned as HR Manager for my department by conducting my own recruiting, interviewing, hiring, promotions, lay-offs and terminations.

·Trained employees with little or no welding experience how to MIG (wire) weld, Plasma cut, Oxy-fuel torch and Carbon arc cut.

·Reduced shielding gas consumption 30% by deviating from industry recommended standard without any adverse affects to weld quality.

·Instrumental in helping to secure ISO 9000 certification through my input and implementation of procedures and work instructions for my department.
