Marc Albrecht, Chief Conductor of Netherlands Philharmony Orchestra, about Huba Holloköi in the "Maestri" documentary
Summary
Since entering the prestigious Dutch National Master Orchestral Conducting program in 2013, the Hungarian born Huba Holloköi has conducted numerous concerts, opera and ballet performances across the Netherlands, Denmark, Finland, Slovakia and Hungary. Playing the violin since the age of four, as an active soloist, chamber musician and orchestral leader, he is benefitting from his experiences also on the conducting podium. Recognized early on for his musically inspiring and efficient rehearsals, he has been working regularly with HET Symfonieorkest, South Danish Filharmony, the Dutch National Youth Orchestra, Joensuu City Orchestra (Finland), and conducted two operas in a row on the Bredeweg Festival in Amsterdam. He assisted such great maestros like Semyon Bychkov with the Concertgebouw Orchestra, Stefan Asbury with Noord Netherlands Orkest, Clark Rundell and Xian Zhang with the NJO.
He aims always for the highest artistic quality. Thanks to the financial support of the Kersjes Fonds, he travelled in Holland, Ireland, UK and Austria with his mentors, Jac van Steen, Kenneth Montgomery and Ed Spanjaard as an assistant, to observe their work and broaden his knowledge about the repertoire. He is keen about getting to know the organizational structures of the different orchestra, about marketing and tools to develop the connection with new audiences.
Holloköi was one of the three finalists of the 53rd Besancon International Conducting Competition.
