Responsible for development and support of web based graphics asset management system and graphic production software and hardware. Consulted as technical expert for all press and printing related issues.

Managed project to convert more than 1,000 graphics designers from Freehand to Adobe Illustrator in 60-days. Organized training plan for all locations coast-to-coast. Conducted software R&D to determine process and functionality changes. Worked with production managers and schedules to ensure minimal productivity impact.

Led technical side of project to migrate West printing contract to another vendor. Coordinated efforts with production and vendor to understand necessary process changes. Defined system change requirements for IT and developed / executed test plans. Project acheived $10 million in saving.

Assisted with implementation of new 'Common Suite of Systems' to unify all regions onto a single system including Sales, Billing and Production. Conducted functional analysis, documented customer requirements and wrote 'Use Cases'. Created UI mockups, executed test plans and assisted in customer training.

Graphics Technical Manager

Managed team of 10 programmers and graphics experts to migrate Directory production into full PostScript production. Provided development and support of graphic production and prepress solutions, including R&D, vendor communications and system development.

Created end-to-end color management system allowing the customer proof to resemble the final printed product. This also provided the artist with new tools to view accurate color during the design phase saving production time. Project resulted in $300K annual savings from unmet customer expectations.

Developed 'preflight' system to validate printability and specific ad requirements as the artist 'checked' the ad back into the asset management system. Web-based system validated color, fonts, printability and ad elements and reported back to the artist. This stand-alone system was later migrated into the primary asset management system. This solution increased artist productivity by at least 20% and prevented numerous errors from printing.

Managed project to create a library of unsold 'spec' ads for reuse by artists. Documented customer requirements, lead functional design, created 'use cases' and UI mock-ups. Conducted acceptance testing with the customer and assisted with creation of training materials. Over time, this catalog of reuseable ads was estimated to save over $200K annually in ad creation time.

Managed a team of 30 - 40 production in all phases of directory production including art, data entry, ad creation, imaging and pagination. Responsible for workflow development through the phases of production.

Responsible for budgets for all prepress processes and equipment. Managed annual maintenance contracts totaling $500K and consumeable supplies totaling $400K annually.

Directed efforts for meeting all EPA and CalOSHA requirement in regard to use and disposal of chemicals, reclaimation of soluble silver / metal.
