Stanford: Currently, Walker is a freshman scholarship player on the Stanford University men’s team. Throughout his junior career, Walker was one of America’s most accomplished tennis players, reaching a national Top-10 ranking at some point in every age group – 12s, 14s, 16s and 18s. He was the Southern California Boys 16-year-old Champion in 2006 as a 15-year-old, and reached a #1 Sectional ranking that year. Walker earned two Gold, two Silver and one Bronze medal in U.S. Tennis Association National Championship doubles play in several age groups, and achieved a #1 doubles ranking in the USA.
Honors Student & Tennis Champion: Unlike many top-ranked juniors who attend academies or are home schooled, Walker carried a heavy academic load of honors and AP classes at Brentwood School, graduating with honors and a weighted GPA of 4.35. Earned Sportsmanship Award at National Hard Court Championships. AsTeam Captain, lead Brentwood School varsity team to three CA state championships.
Music: Studied piano for 6+ years (private lessons); passionate interest in music -- working on developing own DJ business for summer.
Internet & Social Media Savvy: Poised and proactive -- ready to make immediate contributions via computer, internet, social media, viral marketing and related skills. Proficient with MS Word; various online platforms; some PowerPoint and Exel.
Awards: Winner, 2010 Houseman Award. The Evelyn Houseman Award is the Southern California Tennis Association's highest award. It is bestowed annually on one male and one female junior player who has demonstrated the highest achievement and sportsmanship in tennis, setting an example for all players natiionwide.
