  • The world is growing into an international playing field and I believe that communication and appreciation of other cultures is critical to the development of every student. I volunteer to teach Mandarin Chinese to underprivileged kids in the Jackson area.

Shanghai, China

  • I traveled to Shanghai, China with Jackson State University's alternative break program.  While there, we visited local area schools to teach the children English and grant them cultural exposure.  We also visited a nursing home to spread cheer to senior citizens.  I went on a private excursion to a local orphanage to interact with children.
