·       Work with the Board of Directors to lead the organization in all areas of administration, including:programming; strategic planning; communications and marketing; and budgeting and finance.

·Lead all fundraising efforts, including: researching and writing grant proposals; leading the Annual Fund and special donor appeal efforts; and planning and implementing the program’s fundraising events.

·Establish sound working relationships and cooperative arrangements with community groups and create and disseminate materials that clearly articulate the organization’s mission, accomplishments and goals to the public.

·Garner support from key stakeholders, and increase visibility of the organization within both the immigrant and broader Atlanta communities.

·Plan, administer and monitor the organization’s annual budget.

Points of Light Institute

  • Wrote and edited copy used for marketing collateral, the website and annual reports, as well as speeches, video scripts and other communications from the executive director to the organization's stakeholders.
  • In collaboration with a group of advisors representing volunteer mobilizing organizations -- including the American Red Cross and the Corporation for National and Community Service -- developed informational materials and website content promoting skilled-based volunteering as a way to address issues of community health and development.

• Served as lead researcher, writer and editor on a variety of grant proposals and reports. Gathered a wide array of information on CARE's programs worldwide and processed program-related materials used for website content, annual report copy and direct marketing appeals. • In collaboration with an interdepartmental team of CARE staff, developed CARE's Key Resources for Project Managers manual (published in July 2009), which instructs project managers in the field (Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East) how to effectively identify, compile and present relevant information on development projects.

·        Designed, implemented, coordinated and provided technical support to all aspects of the education and language services programs.

·        Serves as liaison to and worked with individuals and groups participating in the program or seeking knowledge of the program.  Maintained complete and accurate program records.

·        Supervised a staff of 20 professional instructors and trained the volunteer teaching assistants.

·        Represented the organization at meetings and conferences and networked with affiliated groups.  

·        Created teaching and training materials and implemented ongoing training events for students, volunteers and staff.  

·        Developed and implemented new programs and events to broaden department’s services.
