I attended Snead State Community College for the summer of 2012 to take a few courses that go towards my degree at the University of Alabama.

Mississippi State University

I attended Mississippi State University from the fall of 2009 to the spring of 2010. While attending MSU I worked to achieve a few credits towards my Bachelors Degree in Food and Nutrition.

University of Alabama

I am currently attending the University of Alabama to attain a Bachelor of Science Degree in Food and Nutrition.I aspire to enroll in the Coordinated Program here at the University followed by taking the licensed Registered Dietitian exam. I also plan to continue my education by attaining my Masters Degree in Nutrition. My current GPA at The University of Alabama is a 3.750 out of a 4.000 scale.

Work experience

Baby Sitter/Nanny

I babysat in the summers of 2011-2012 from 9-3 every day. I took care of a 4 year old and a 2 year old all day as well as cooking, running errands, and did whatever was required to take care of these children.

Camp Ozark

I worked at Camp Ozark in Mt. Ida, Arkansas the summer of 2010 for 8 weeks. I was a camp counselor for children 5-7 year olds. I was in charge of different groups of children for one or two weeks at a time.  I was their leader, mother figure, and I helped them make memories that will last a life time.  Some other responsibilities I had at Camp Ozark included teaching a wide range of activities throughout the day.  Another interesting job I was responsible for was working as part of the kitchen staff for one week.  We prepared meals, served them to the campers and were in charge of cleaning up the kitchen.

The 3 Eared Rabbit

I was an employee at a local sandwich shop called the 3 Earred Rabbit from April 2009-July 2009.  I worked as a waitress and cook and had the responsibilities of showing up to work, taking people’s orders, making their food correctly, and cleaning up the restaurant.

Cheer Tech

I worked at Cheer Tech from 2006-2009. I was a cheer/tumbling coach, where I did some of the same skills I did at High Fly, but I also taught them cheers and motions.I also did private lessons that were one on one with a girl, and I taught summer camps.

High Fly Allstars

I worked at High Fly All-stars from 2006-2009.I was considered a tumbling coach and took on the responsibilities of being on time, teaching the girls or boys how to do the skills correctly, and also spotting them on any skill they were working on.

Initial Goals

Within the next yearI plan to graduate from college and attend graduate school to receive my master’s degree in Nutrition.  I also have a goal of getting accepted into the Coordinated Program at the University of Alabama where I will learn the skills I need to become a Registered Dietitian.I also would love to get involved in more with community activities.

Work Philosophy

Being involved in sports my whole life I have always been somewhat interested in health and fitness. As I got older I began to struggle some with my image and what I wanted to look like.It wasn’t until my junior year of high school that I became truly interested in nutrition and wanted to learn more about it.I began to see a Dietitian and from that point on I was hooked.  I was so interested in nutrition and all I wanted to do was learn as much as I could. After overcoming a major obstacle in my life, I then knew that I wanted to pursue a career in Dietetics and help as many people as I could. One of the main reasons I want to become a Registered Dietitian is to help people of all ages and sizes learn the true meaning of being healthy, and that is what I plan to do with my degree.
