Project: Separation of valuable organic compounds from aqueous and non-aqueous solutions.

Mentor: Dr.S.Sridhar, Senior Principle Scientist, Membrane Separation Laboratory.

  •  The extraction of stevioside from Stevia Rebaudiana Bertoni (leaves) was studied through a series of processes, which comprises of ultra-filtration, micro-filtration, and Nano-filtration.  
  • Aspen Plus was used for the process simulation of distillation of hydrocarbons.

  • Bagged first position in CHEMIX’15 (Paper presentation) in March, 2015 for the paper presentation.
  • Placed in top 1% in JEE- MAINS with all India percentile score of 99.15%.
  • Participated in AXIS, the annual technical fest of Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, and built a hydraulic arm for the event Pascal Trouble.
  • Participated in a fluid mechanics event, FUN WITH FLUID organized by chemical engineering department, VNIT.

Research Work                                                                                      

 Molecular Simulations of sugaring out phase separation in water-acetonitrile mixture

Sugaring out is a phase separation phenomenon observed when glucose is added to the water-acetonitrile mixture. Interactions in the system are studied using molecular dynamic simulations. Currently authoring a research paper of the same.

  • GROMACS (MD Simulation Package, Computational Chemistry Package)
  • Amber Tools (MD Simulation Package)
  • Packmol (Creating initial input files required for MD Simulation)
  • VMD (Visualizing the output files)
