The role of a Business Group Commodity Director is to build the purchasing strategy of the Business Group (BG) within his specific commodity. The main missions of the role are to:
* Participate in the definition of Purchasing Strategy and deploy it , propose make or buy strategy
* Assess the suppliers
* Develop a real partnership and lead negotiations with the supplier panel , participate in negotiations with the common suppliers to the several BG's, develop productivity/quality delivery improvement plan
* Discuss the general agreements concerning the biggest suppliers
* Work jointly with Group to find new suppliers according to their specific needs
* Be involved in the early development phase of the programs
* Propose the appropriate supplier panel for each program
* Validate choices made by Program Managers
* Consolidate information from different plants' (QCD) objectives and manage operational relationships.
