Team Member/Cosmetics Key Specialist

Target Corp.

As a Target Team Member Cosmetics key specialist, I was responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our guests that enter the store. I was very passionate about maximizing each customer's experience while promoting the Target brand. I took the initiative to ask guests if there was anything that I could do or help them find. I inquired about their needs and assisted them in making decisions based upon their needs and desires. When I was not helping guests, I was responsible for insuring that the shelves were stocked and displays were neat in appearance. As a Team Member, I worked closely with my teammates to insure areas of responsibility were covered and, when requested, assisted other team members in checking guests out of the store. I oversaw the placement of products, with a focus on sale items and accessibility for customers. I increased sales by 5% in my department for the same time period the previous year.

Officer Candidate/Staff

U.S. Navy - Officer Training Command

I volunteered to be trained as a US Naval Officer. While I was awaiting discharge, I performed clerical and support duties for the US Naval Training Command, Newport, RI. I used MS Office, MS Word and MS Excel to monitor office supplies and equipment, personnel, and appointments. I organized Welcoming packets and greeted entering officer candidates and provided them Welcoming packets and answered questions about their routines and duties. I performed support duties to include on-site coordinating at various events for entering Naval Officers. I assisted the Command and protocol offices with public visits, guided tours, graduation ceremonies, dedications, and special briefings. I assisted the protocol office in assembling and disseminating public relations materials relevant to each event. On some occasions, I provided briefing materials for the Commander and/or senior staff assistants and others appearing before public groups and briefing sessions. I ensured the subject matter was complete and arranged for the setup and conduct of the presentation.

Production Assistant

WRDW-TV News 12

I served as the production assistant (PA) for the daily and weekend 6:00 and 11:00 PM news, weather, and sports for WRDW News Channel 12 serving the Aiken, SC and Augusta, GA community television viewing audiences. As the PA, I demonstrated strong organizational skills performing a variety of tasks such as writing, editing, story assignment, production, audio and layout in the production of the nightly newscasts. I wrote and/or supervised the writing and editing of news and feature stories, associated sports articles, reviews, editorials, and commentaries on a wide variety of subjects for the newscast and for posting on the TV news web site. I worked cooperatively with the Production Chief, producers, news directors, sports and weather personalities and engineering staff to review production scripts and layouts for the nightly editions of the newscast assuring that news copy was prepared properly for type of composition required by the newscaster and teleprompter. I proofread and edited all material for clarity, grammatical accuracy and compliance with standard Associated Press journalistic style for presentation on the newscast. As a result of the quality of our productions and our production teamwork, the 6:00 PM newscast became the award winning and highest rated news show in the Aiken/Augusta area. In addition, because of my excellent skill sets, I was selected to be the studio and remote production assistant for nationally televised events in Augusta, GA, such as the Masters Golf Tournament and James Brown's funeral. I also assisted producers and reporters with arranging interviews, reviewing press releases, and pitching story ideas for shows.
