  • Work with international college students to develop their English language writing and speaking skills
  • Tutor students in one-on-one sessions for writing and speaking, or with a small conversational group in a classroom setting
  • Use the English language as a vessel to enhance students’ understanding about American history, culture and ideals
  • Explore the facets of English with students by using idioms, music, and traditional media in addition to traditional English exercises
  • Experience includes working with students from Korea, China, Taiwan and Japan

  • Led large groups of freshman students (and parents) through their summer orientation programs
  • Helped ease the transition between high school and college
  • Worked 60+ weeks on a strict schedule, making sure students arrived at advising and registration appointments on time 
  • Acted as an informational resource, even after orientation -- I fielded student's questions well into fall, and still keep in contact with many students I led
  • Developed and executed programming during the UO's fall Week of Welcome
  • Learned group leadership skills and the many facets of the UO’s degrees, programs and services during a three-month Educational Leadership class prior to orientation
