Senior Marketing Manager, Design Center at The Merchandise Mart
Lead and execute the marketing and communication functions pertaining to the showrooms of The Design Center– housing the largest presentation of home furnishings worldwide.
§Strategic Planning: Work with team members to create, present and implement annual marketing strategies for all Design Center business initiatives.
§Communications: Oversee all marketing communications, including copywriting for programming collateral, direct mail, HTML’s, advertisements, website, and event specific pieces.
§Programming: Coordinate and negotiate contracts and marketing efforts pertaining to events with outside groups including national shelter publications, trade organizations, and celebrity speakers.
§Budget Management: Manage $1.1 million departmental budget including annual planning, internal invoicing, monthly reforecast reports and event supervision.
§Event Coordination: Collaborate with tenants, industry partners, outside vendors and internal meeting planning teams to execute full event coordination.
§Strategic Marketing: Assist in designing individualized marketing plans and identifying co-marketing opportunities for clients requiring additional assistance.
§Sales Support: Develop sales collateral to help maximize revenue and profitability as well as ongoing tenant support to encourage lease renewal.
§Industry Involvement: Act as liaison with industry partners including A.S.I.D., I.I.D.A., I.F.D.A., DIFFA, local design schools, and other key groups to facilitate important corporate sponsorships such as the A.S.I.D. Design Summit tradeshow and DIFFA Chicago’s ‘Dining by Design’ event.
§Creative Concepts: Pioneered innovative efforts to expand the channel of distribution into the consumer realm by launching a comprehensive buying service featuring an onsite concierge, full time designer support staff, a new advertising campaign, and social media support to include Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube and a new blog.
