My career to date has followed a chronological path of steady advancement in the field of mechanical and environmental engineering.I entered the workforce in The Netherlands in 1993 at Danieli-Corus (energy & environment turnkey projects), starting as a mechanical engineer and progressing to project engineer. Over a five year period I got a solid grounding in power & production plants on projects in Holland, Canada, the UK, France, and Germany.

I then made a career move to a company engaged in mechanical and process engineering and consulting in the steel and pharmaceutical sectors (Iv-Industry) as the Mechanical Engineering & Process Department Manager, which also involved a stint as Project Engineer on a de-zincing installation project in France.

In 2001 I was ‘headhunted’ by an industry leader in the water and waste management sector, Grontmij Water & Waste Management, and for five years I worked as a project manager on wastewater treatment plants and landfills in The Netherlands, Germany, Belgium and China. The China project represented a very significant advancement in my career.I was the only expatriate onsite, and as Project and Site Manager I oversaw this project from inception to successful completion (2.5 years), when in 2005 all operations were handed over to the Chinese government. This World Bank/Chinese and Dutch Government funded project was the first sanitary landfill of its type in China, and as such was adopted as a model of best practice in the sector throughout China.

At the conclusion of this project I made an entrepreneurial decision to try my hand at running my own installations services consultancy in China. However, after six months I was once again ‘headhunted’, this time by a client of my own consultancy.I spent four years with Paul Wurth Metal Technologies (Beijing); the first two as a site manager on numerous iron and steel plants in China, overseeing the installation and commissioning of blast furnace equipment. In September 2007 I was promoted to the senior management role of Director, Projects & Marketing (Ferrous); this position has recently become redundant.

I enjoy challenges & problem solving - both from a management perspective & on the practical side of things, and have the high-level technical skills necessary to accommodate this.

Seeking a management position with an organization where I can utilize my skills and experience to improve operations, increase profitability, and enhance growth
