As the founder and Director of the Sundaram Dermatology, Cosmetic and Laser Surgery Centers of Rockville, Maryland, and Fairfax, Virginia, Hema Sundaram, M.D., remains a specialist in cosmetic surgery and the treatment of all types of skin, hair, and nail conditions. Utilizing innovative procedures that combine advanced technologies and holistic techniques, Dr. Sundaram continues to help her clients look and feel better through surgical or non-invasive means.

Dr. Hema Sundaram received her education from the elite University of Cambridge in England, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Genetics, a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, and a Master of Arts. Her postgraduate training included a rotating internship in medicine and surgery, an internship in internal medicine, a postdoctoral research fellowship in molecular biology, a dermatology residency, and a medical staff fellowship. She opened her two private practices after completing her formal education. Dr. Hema Sundaram holds licenses to practice medicine in Maryland, Virginia, Illinois, and Nevada. She has written a book and edited numerous articles for publication, investigated dozens of new medical treatments, and delivered presentations all over the world.

Dr. Hema Sundaram holds the title of fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and ISDS (the International Society for Dermatologic Surgery). In addition, she serves as a committee member for the Indian American Medical Association of Illinois. Furthermore, Dr. Hema Sundaram was Lieutenant and Lieutenant Commander of the United States Public Health Service from 1993 to 1995.
