Personal Profile

I am a semi-retired teacher who has a strong interest in the local community and its issues.

I feel that my experience, obtained through teaching,  has provided me with a useful set of transferrable skills - motivating, organising and problem solving.

My family have lived in the Totland and Freshwater areas for a few hundred years or so and I am an enthusiatic researcher of local history. I care deeply about the West Wight.

I am passionate about local issues and have some experience of campaigning and making a difference. I was actively engaged in campaigning for the reinstatement of the path access on Totland Sea Wall and am also heavily involved on the commitee of the Friends of Freshwater Library with responsibility for publicity and advertising.

I strongly believe that we have an incredible community inTotland and Freshwater,  which is growing in strength.  I am keen to be involved in helping to shape and improve our community for everyone.

I have excellent IT and  communication skills. I currently administer several community groups on Facebook, the most important of which is a page dedicated to showcasing Totland and Freshwater.
