One month of clinical experience at the Cancer Institute of New Jersey in the outpatient setting as well as the inpatient setting at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit. Followed patients with various hematologic malignancies who were status post bone marrow transplant.

One month of clinical experience at the National Cancer Institute. Interacted and followed patients with a broad spectrum of cancer diagnoses. Gained insight into the development and conduct of clinical trials. Attended seminars and conferences organized by the hematology and medical oncology branch. Also presented an article on the Neosphere trial at the journal club organized by the women's malignancy branch.

RESEARCH EXPERIENCE

Pulmonary Amyloidosis: A Rare Presentation of a Rare Disease, Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, NJ(November 2014)                                                                                         First author for a case report. We reported a case of alveolar septal subtype of pulmonary amyloidosis that was associated with multiple myeloma. Literature review on pubmed only shows five such reported cases in the past. Presented a poster at research day at Jersey Shore University Medical Center. Abstract also submitted to the American Society of Hematology.

PET scan Negativity Post Treatment in Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma May Not Indicate Cure, Chart Review: Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, NJ(December 2014-present)  Working as one of the authors. Study suggests that long term PET scan monitoring maybe necessary to monitor DLBCL who have negative PET scans following treatment. (Study in progress)

Dose Adjusted EPOCH-R Treatment for Diffuse Large B cell Lymphoma in a Patient with Hepatic Failure, Jersey Shore University Medical Center(March 2015)                                             First author for a case report. Dosing for the chemotherapy administered was different from recommendations despite which the patient showed significant improvement. (Abstract to be submitted to American Society of Hematology and Journal of Community and Supportive Oncology) 

PML/RAR-alpha Re-arrangement in a patient with Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia: A Case Report, Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, NJ (May 2015)                                      First author for case report. Reporting a case with Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia withnegative t(15;17) and other typical translocations commonly associated with this disorder. (Abstract to be submitted to American Society of Hematology)

Efficacy of Temozolamide in Adults with Medulloblastoma, Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, NJ(May 2015)                                                                                                      First author for a case series of two patients. Medulloblastoma is a tumor that is not commonly found in adult populations. Temozolamide is not commonly used as a chemotherapeutic agent for treatment. We reported two cases who demonstrated long term remission following its use. Abstract currently submitted to Society for Neuro-oncology.

Renal MALToma: A Rare Differential for a Renal Mass, Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, NJ(June 2015)                                                                                                                    First author for case report. Pubmed search revealed very few reported cases for this condition. Currently working on manuscript for the case report

Left Ventricular Diffuse Fibrosis in Atrial Fibrillation with Preserved Ejection Fraction in Patients undergoing Pulmonary Vein Isolation: A Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Study, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center/Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA (December 2012-April 2013)             Worked as the second author, calculated T1 acquisition time for all study subjects. Learnt the use of Matlab and Osirix softwares. Study suggested that paroxysmal atrial fibrillation is associated with diffuse left ventricular fibrosis. Manuscript currently submitted to InternationalJournal of Cardiovascular Imaging.
