A student of global economies with a Ph.D. in International Politics and Finance from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Harlan Ullman provides advisory services to high-level government and business leaders through The Killowen Group, of which he is Chairman. Harlan Ullman also chairs high-technology firms CNIGuard Ltd. and CNIGuard Inc., both of which operate in the infrastructure industry; sits on the advisory board of I.E.-SPS and SPS US, a business that manufactures a new material that is as revolutionary to steel as iron was to wood; and sits on the boards of two publicly traded investment funds.A former naval officer, Harlan Ullman served in Vietnam and led more than 150 combat patrols and operations. The youngest military professor of the National War College, he spent three years directing the course of study for military strategy. Today, Ullman continues to serve the military through seats on the advisory boards of the Department of Defense and the Combatant Commanders. He also serves as Senior Advisor to the Atlantic Council and is a Distinguished Senior Fellow at the National Defense University.Harlan Ullman is author of multiple books on foreign policy, strategy, and security, including “America’s Promise Restored: Preventing Culture, Crusade, and Partisanship from Wrecking Our Nation,” “In Irons: U.S. Military Might in the New Century,” and “Unfinished Business: Afghanistan, The Middle East, and Beyond; Defusing the Dangers that Threaten America’s Security.” He was principal author of the ‘shock and awe’ doctrine, which was released in 1996, and has written more than 500 columns for United Press International, Inc., the most recent of which called for a new version of the 1933 Glass-Steagall Act and stricter regulation of financial weapons of mass destruction.
