About Hans Biebel Chicago

Based in Chicago, Hans Biebl draws on his extensive background as a naval submarine officer in the U.S. military.

Mr. Biebl attended the University of Notre Dame in the early 2000s and earned a bachelor’s degree in philosophy. Graduating cum laude, Mr. Biebl was the co-author of a paper recognized as the best undergraduate paper at a conference sponsored by the department of economics and policy.

Upon graduation, Mr. Biebl was commissioned as an Ensign in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Biebl served on a submarine stationed in Groton, Connecticut, and Bremerton, Washington, and took on a variety of watch-standing and division officer positions. He deployed twice on Western Pacific missions. Mr. Biebl served as acting engineer officer and directed a department of approximately 50 personnel. This assignment entailed responsibilities that would typically be reserved for a Lieutenant Commander. During his time with the armed forces, Mr. Biebl received the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal and the Navy Commendation Medal. Hans Biebl attended law school at the University of Michigan Law School, where he graduated magna cum laude and order of the coif. Mr. Biebl currently lives and works in Chicago, Illinois.
