British Heart Foundation

I work as a volunteer sales assistant in the British Heart Foundation charity shop which I am currently enjoying as I like supporting my local community. My duties include sales transactions, general housekeeping and sorting stock. I place a high value on customer service to insure that the customers have a good experience within the shop and will hopefully return. It has also allowed me to develop skills of communicating with many different types of people as there is always a diverse range of customers in the shop.

My objective in life is be successful in my career and also in my life. I want to help do my part for the local and worldwide community.

I have an interest in my local community, I like to give back to my community whichever way I can. My volunteer work allows me to do this. The majority of the customers are people who are struggling with their finances and because of these problems people often need someone to talk to, just a friendly chat to pick them up, which I don't mind providing. It is a good way of providing help for people who need it.

I am also very interested in contemporary environmental issues such as global warming and renewable energy. I try to be as environmentally friendly as I possibly can by recycling and only using as much energy as I need. I would love to take my interest in environmental welfare to a higher level by somehow incorporating it into my career path.
