Technical and Professional Writer

As a writer and designer, my mission is to present rhetoric in the most necessary and practical ways through the crafting of meaningful language and design. My passion for constructing clear information and enhancing its usability is directed to improve the quality of communication in both the professional world and in personal relationships.

Writing, editing, technical and professional communication, psychology, community, education, digital media, and technology

I am the technical writer for Panasonic Energy Corporation of America at the Lithium Battery Division in Columbus, Georgia. I have experience in document design, content management, and information design. I have developed user and administrator manuals and reference guides, business documentation, and corporate social event materials.

I have a keen interest and passion for pioneering systems of technical documentation for organizations and learning about the various tools and other resources available for doing so. I am familiar with a variety of software programs that I have used to develop training materials, including--but not limited to--the following Adobe products:

InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Adobe Media Encoder, and Audition.

I am also available for freelance projects in areas of technical or business documentation. Feel free to email me at hla0002@auburn.edu if you have a request.

Over several tests, I have been consistently typed as INFJ according to the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator.

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator identifies INFJ (Introvert, Intuitive, Feeling, Judging) as the rarest personality type, making up less than 1% of the world population. The Myers&Briggs Foundation site's description of INFJ:

"Seek meaning and connection in ideas, relationships, and material possessions. Want to understand what motivates people and are insightful about others. Conscientious and committed to their firm values. Develop a clear vision about how best to serve the common good. Organized and decisive in implementing their vision."

Technical Writer

Panasonic Energy Corporation of America

I'm part of the Quality Engineering Department and work as the first and only Technical Writer for the Lithium Battery Division at PECA. I develop the operations guides and work instructions for the plant's assembly lines, write procedures, and emphasize concepts relevant to ISO/TS 16949 conformance in my work. I work closely with subject matter experts (assembly line supervisors) to learn the operations and assess the needs of each audience. I then create original language and graphics to most appropriately convey the information. My role in the company is to create and establish the necessary professional technical documentation for the satisfaction of quality requirements and to contribute to the continual improvement of the company's operations.

Created (designed and developed content for) the following:

•Original templates for operation guides and work instructions

•Graphics to illustrate and represent product parts, tasks, and important concepts such as SIPOC

•Professional work instructions and operation guides for assembly lines that manufacture lithium batteries

•Troubleshooting guide for investigating equipment when specific manufacturing defects occur
