My role within the marketing department at an international property investment company involves: monitoring lead generation, liaising with third parties such as advertisers, journalists and PR companies, copywriting and proof-reading for marketing collateral and creating email marketing campaigns among other ad-hoc responsibilities.

My main responsibilities can be categorised into four main sectors:

  1. Maintaining an online presence—Monitoring Knight Knox's online presence on social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Google+), as well as on online news outlets and on major UK property portals Rightmove and Zoopla
  2. Lead generation—Utilising the Salesforce CRM system to monitor lead generation and third party email campaigns, reporting my findings back to the Head of Marketing on a monthly basis.
  3. Email marketing—Creating new and innovative concepts for email marketing as a means of e-commerce, as well as monitoring the performance of existing internal and third party campaigns.
  4. Copywriting/Proof-reading—Writing and proofing copy both for internal marketing collateral and for external third party use. Internal copy includes writing for the corporate website, email campaigns, brochures, property listings, microsites and internal presentations. External copy includes writing for publishers like NetHousePrices, The Landlord & Buy-to-Let Magazine, and Global Property Scene, an independently-branded buy-to-let magazine.

Voluntary Marketing Assistant

Royal Holloway University of London Students Union
Sep 2013May 2014

The capacity as my University's elected Entertainments Officer allowed me to work with the Students Union on a voluntary basis to both create new events and to promote them on campus using a variety of different on and off-line channels.

conducted student surveys to better understand the demands of my peers, made marketing materials like posters and website pages to promote new events, took photographs of events, attended meetings with both the President of the Students' Union and the Commercial Services team to present new events, pioneered new ideas such as text message display boards and competitions during event nights, and guest-blogged on the SU website about the results of the student feedback to keep students updated.

All this was done on an ad-hoc basis, in addition to my third year studies at Royal Holloway University, as well as my capacity as the elected Entertainments Officer, my position as an elected board member on the Executive Committee, my work with the University television station RHUBARB TV, presenting my own radio show on the University radio station Insanity Radio, a member of the Photography Society, and my recreational involvement in the Royal Holloway Women's Rugby Team among others.

BA Media Arts (Upper Second Class)

Royal Holloway University of London, surrey
Sep 2011Jun 2014

BA Media Arts allowed for the practical and theoretical approach to the study of the modern media industry. This included courses such as:

  • Screenwriting—allowed me to practice and perfect my writing skills, as well as hone creative and innovative thinking;
  • Transmedia (the art of storytelling over multiple platforms)—allowed for the design and implementation of multimedia such as websites, social media, photography, moving images, apps and radio podcasts;
  • Television & Digital Culture—allowed for the exploration of ideologies in the modern digital era, and the way in which the Internet and television are adapting to fit into the modern cultural landscape.

My dissertation"Celebrities' Right to Privacy Versus the Press's Freedom of Speech in the UK" allowed for the theoretical exploration of journalistic practices in the UK, and how the ever-evolving digital world is invading the privacy of not just those in the public eye but even the public.
